Dr. Joe Elkadi
Specialist Paediatrician

Dr Joe Elkadi is a Consultant Paediatrician at KidMed Medical Centre providing specialist paediatric care for infants, children and adolescents across the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Penrith and Greater Western Sydney regions. He provides assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management for broad spectrum of general paediatric conditions, developmental and behavioural concerns and using a practical, family-centred and evidence-based approach.
Background and Training
Dr Elkadi grew up in Westmead and completed his secondary education at Parramatta Marist High School. He initially completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Sydney before undertaking his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney.
He completed his internship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, and subsequently undertook specialist paediatric training through The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, one of Australia’s leading tertiary paediatric hospitals.
During training, Dr Elkadi worked across neonatal intensive care (NICU), inpatient paediatrics, emergency departments and outpatient clinics throughout New South Wales, gaining broad experience managing both acute and chronic childhood conditions.
Clinical Areas of Practice
Dr Elkadi is a general paediatrician and commonly sees children for:
• General paediatric medical issues
• Infant health and early developmental concerns
• Growth and feeding difficulties
• Developmental and behavioural assessments
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessment and management
• Bedwetting (enuresis) and continence problems
He works closely with families, general practitioners, schools and allied health professionals to develop clear and practical management plans.
Community and Outreach Work
Dr Elkadi participates in KidMed’s outreach Aboriginal clinic in Lithgow, supporting improved access to specialist paediatric care for regional and Aboriginal communities.
Approach to Care
Dr Elkadi aims to provide clear explanations, collaborative decision-making and realistic management strategies tailored to each child and family. His approach focuses on early identification of concerns, supporting development, and helping parents feel confident navigating their child’s health and behaviour.
Outside of Medicine
Outside of work, Dr Elkadi enjoys gardening and spending time with his young family and is a proud father to a baby daughter.
