Breastfeeding and Lactation Clinic

At KidMed, we offer specialised care for families navigating fertility related issues, and all stages of the breastfeeding journey — from pre-conception and pregnancy through to weaning.

Our clinic is led by a Specialist GP with advanced training in breastfeeding medicine. We take a holistic, family-centred approach that prioritises both infant nutrition and parental wellbeing.

Who we see?

You can book an appointment to discuss:

  •

Fertility or pre-conception planning

  •

GP Antenatal Shared Care

  •

Preparation for breastfeeding

  •

Induced lactation

An antenatal consultation focused on breastfeeding is strongly recommended to help set up a positive and supported feeding experience.

Common concerns we manage

  •

Nipple pain or latching difficulties

  •

Low milk supply or oversupply

  •

Mastitis, blocked ducts, or breast pain

  •

Tongue tie assessment

  •

Induced lactation

  •

Breastfeeding and medication advice

  •

Weaning

We also support parents experiencing challenges with their mental or physical health after birth, recognising that this period, while special, can bring unique stressors.

Our approach

Each consultation includes a comprehensive assessment and a personalised management plan. Our care is designed to:

  •

Ensure your baby is fed and thriving

  •

Support your milk supply and feeding preferences

  •

Provide practical solutions for common breastfeeding issues

  •

Promote the parent–infant bond

  •

Address parental wellbeing and mental health

We welcome all feeding choices and tailor care to meet your values and needs.

Referrals and appointments

You do not need a referral to attend the Breastfeeding and Lactation Clinic but we welcome referrals or communication from GPs, midwives, child and family health nurses, and other health professionals.
